Why ThongLo and Ekamai?

Thonglo has earned itself the reputation of being one of the hippest and most cosmopolitan neighbourhoods in recent years. The area, which spans three kilometres in the heart of Bangkok’s Sukhumvit Road, houses some of Bangkok’s most influential families as core residents. This prime area is also a major commercial hub with international, regional and local office headquarters. The area is also home to  an eclectic collection of local Thai designers, interesting lifestyle concept stores and thriving social-media worthy food and beverage establishment options.

However, if you still yearn for somewhere which retains the old rustic Thai charm, Thonglo’s sister Ekamai, is the neighbourhood benefiting from the spillover effects. Ekamai is one place that you shouldn't miss.

Both of these areas draw affluent and trendsetting Thai locals to live and work in the area, with a rising amount of Japanese expats also calling it home when they move to Bangkok. The core elements of Thonglo and Ekamai having uncanny similarities to back home, from having a Japanese-themed mall, to having a wide array of  food options, making it easier for the international move and smooth transition.

With increased attention from locals and expats, it is no wonder that the prices of  property in Thonglo and Ekamai has been rising steadily over the last few years. In the last two years, Sansiri has launched The Monument Thong Lo, a luxurious living space in the heart of Thong Lo and KHUN by YOO, a condominium that collaborates with creative bigwig Yoo Design Studios. Ekamai projects also include TAKA Haus , a collaboration between Tokyu Corporation, Japan and Sansiri, at the prime location of Ekamai 12.

These two areas have the charm of Little Tokyo amidst a Thai district, with a cultural mix of both international and local Thai talent. Regardless of the kind of lifestyle you’re looking for, Thonglo and Ekamai can satisfy various target audiences and markets easily, with its core push factors being prime location and excellent amenities.

Increasing prices of property in Thonglo and Ekamai

The Thonglo and Ekamai area, which embraces local culture and international talents into this cultural hotspot, also attracted Tokyu Corp to invest and to co-launch TAKA Haus with Sansiri, in 2017. Investors that are eager to see relatively quick results should still rank Thonglo as one of the key areas to invest their funds in. However, it is also worth noting that Ekamai has yet to see as much redevelopment as Thonglo, and is a good early investing area for early adopters.

With proper planning, quality developments from Sansiri can easily be prepared for rental, sale, or even private ownership. This also gives investors the ability to execute their ideal exit strategy when the need arises.
