But with decreasing land availability as a result of a dramatic rise in population, most notably in the urban area and centre of lifestyle such as Thong Lo, the definition of “home” extends beyond mere single house, and to even a studio bedroom in an apartment or condominium. Even when deep down in the heart, we never stop dreaming of a large space and privacy only a “true” home can offer.

Taking the form of a monolith — an iconic shape that resonates with the world’s best known buildings, from the Millennium Hilton, World Trade Centre, Seagram Building and 432 Park Avenue in New York City to Al Sharq Tower in Dubai — once finished, the 45-floor building will be the tallest landmark in Thong Lo. Housing only 127 residential units, with only a maximum of 4 units per floor, each with a private lift that stops only at your room, the project promises supreme spaciousness and privacy you only get from your dream home.
Another iconic design that comes with the luxury of space is the swimming pool. The sculptural form, inspired by the shape of a giant tree, is 28 m long and 9.5 m wide. Comprising a kid’s pool and a jacuzzi, the pool has white cloud marble flooring, contrasted with the blue color of the water and the surrounding green trees — a real urban oasis for modern families to relax and recharge their energy.
The same goes with the vast, over 2,000 sqm green space within the project that comprises a huge, 40-year-old tree with over 2 m in diameter and a 50-year-old rain tree. Divided into a front park and a backyard — a nod to Thai landscape tradition with the front designed for receiving guests and the back for private relaxation — it’s a masterpiece collaboration between THE MONUMENT THONG LO and Tectonix, the famed landscape design firm behind the brilliance of Sofitel So Samiu and Burasiri Thakam, and set to become the largest green space in a Thong Lo where green space is a rare luxury.
Putting family life at the heart of project development, THE MONUMENT THONG LO doesn’t overlook the need for a pet of some modern families. Our “Dog Park” is a space to spend quality time with man’s best friend. But for other residents who are not so keen on animals, the routing is designed so that pets can only commute via service lift to prevent unwanted encounter.
With the big idea being making every nook and cranny feel just like home, starting first and foremost with the common area. Designed as a vast living room, the 150-sqm lobby comes with 5-metre high, curved ceiling, illuminated by LED lighting. The full height window offers an extensive view of the green garden. The design and furnishings of the lobby is inspired by natural elements such as the wooden floor and the matching bookmatched cappuccino stone wall that evokes the sublime pattern of a tree trunk.
The vast lobby is perfected by large-scale furniture from world-famous Italian brands Fendi Casa and Flex Form to reinforce the feeling of luxury, elegance and also practicality. Homey warmth and comfort come in natural elements such as petrified wood side table — a rare, naturally fossilized tree that takes 300 years to transition to stone. The woven pattern of the archway leading up to the office or lifts transpires grandeur. And at the heart of the lobby is the chandelier — a iconic piece by a chandelier manufacturer, the glass-making savoire-faire of which has been practised and passed on for generations for over 1000 years. The light, free-form custom chandelier used at THE MONUMENT THONG LO is all man-made, with each meticulous process ensuring a unique artistic form that transcends its decorative purpose.
The spaciousness and luxury of the common area are reflected also in the private space — something that you can feel the moment you step out of the lift, and right into the foyer, floored in bookmatched white venus marble. The motion sensor automatically switches on the “Welcome Light.” The fabric glass folding door leads to a large living room — 3-m and 2.7-m high ceiling with white venus marble flooring. The spaciousness can be amplified by leaving the folding door and swing window open — making your living room an open-air space that overlooks the stunning cityscape through the full-height window. But for those who prefer to step outside, the 20-sqm terrace is large enough for an outdoor morning coffee or afternoon tea.
THE MONUMENT THONG LO doesn’t stop at just vast space and elegant decors to ensure maximal luxury for all residents. Only the finest equipments are selected to compliment each and every room: showers and faucets from Gessi — a luxurious Italian brand for bath and faucet systems trusted by the likes of Armani Hotels & Resort and W Hotel. The master bedroom bath boasts the top model “Rettangolo” — the iconic, square and seamless design of which is a testament of minimal perfection. The automation switch used in the room is by Legrand — a French specialist in design switches. The switch has blue light on standby, but will change to pinkish tone once switched on.
